New Prizes Announced

 

Four new prize categories have been created to stimulate further engagement and excitement for the 100 Hours of Astronomy global event on 10-13 January 2019:

-Social Media Prize (2 winners)

-The ‘Astronomy For All’ Prize (2 winners)

-Most Innovative Event Prize (2 winners)

-Biggest 100 Hours of Astronomy Event Turnout Prize (2 winners)

Prizes will only be awarded to events that have officially registered for the 100 Hours of Astronomy event. For more information and full contest rules see here.

Winners Announced for the Telescope Competition

In August 2018, IAU100 and the 100 Hours of Astronomy event announced a telescope competition in collaboration with the Belgian initiative Sterren Schitteren voor Iedereen (SSVI) and Universe Awareness (UNAWE).  After the receipt of nearly 200 entries from 47 countries worldwide, 10 winners have been selected to each receive a Bresser Refractor telescope that has been signed by astronauts to support astronomy educational activities with children around the world. These will be used during the 100 Hours of Astronomy Global Project on 10-13 January 2019. Read the list of winners here.

Telescope Competition

Have you ever wanted a telescope signed by astronauts? In collaboration with the Belgian initiative Sterren Schitteren voor Iedereen (SSVI) and Universe Awareness (UNAWE), we are giving away 10 Bresser Refractor telescopes that have been signed by astronauts to support astronomy educational activities with children around the world.
