About: The event will teach basics of astronomy to amateur astronomers between January 10 and 12, 2019. It will open on January 10 at 9:00 am with introductory public lecture held at Meritoria Hotel in Tororo town on stellar physics, solar system and the dimensions of the universe. This will be interactive so that participants are allowed to share their experiences and perceptions. We will then move to make sky observations over Tororo town in Lion’s park with the telescope while exploring the basics of observational astronomy between 5:00 -7:00 Pm. On January 11, at 8:30 am, the experts will share display images of celestial objects like galaxies and share cutting-edge scientific discoveries and knowledge of the universe. At 2:00 pm, we shall enter into interactive session between participants and experts. Later, we shall then engage participants in observations till 8:00 pm. On January 12, at 9:00 am, there will be direct engagement of the participants in public lecture series entitled 'Astronomy in the Corridor'. The facilitating team will share knowledge of the universe in ways that inspire, excite, challenge, and inform the public through large-scale exhibits and displays, interactive websites, video content, and a range of print products.
