About: As a part of our activities for the 100th anniversary of International Astronomical Union (IAU), we are celebrating 100 Hours of Astronomy 2.0 with different activities in cities such as Damak, Janakpur, Simara, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, Butwal, Mangalgadi, Dhangadi making our celebration a truely national celebration! We are pleased to announced a special talk/interaction with Dr. Henry Throop, Senior Scientist, Planetary Science Institute (PSI), Washington DC, USA. There will be interaction with NASO officials about NASO programs with a special webinar with Dr. Throop during 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM, Monday. January 14, 2019 at Southwestern State College (SWSC), Basundhara, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Celebrating 100 Hrs of Astronomy in Nepal: Kathmandu, Nepal

About: We are organizing a public event for school , university graduate and doing an observation of celestial bodies in promoting the key role of astronomy for education, outreach and astronomical development. 
Day 1: Keynote lectures - The components would include the following topics: The Earth and Moon, The solar system, The evolution of Universe, Discovery of exoplanets, The evolution of galaxies.
Day 2: Practical Components - The practical components would include the following topics: How to use star-charts, How to sketch astronomical data, How to use astronomical software, Echelle spectrometer to discover exoplanets, Low frequency radio telescope
Day 3 : Observation of Celestial bodies - In this section, we will do stargazing in Nagarkot to observe celestial bodies using telescope.
