“Winter story of the constellations”: All villages and towns in the municipality of Dolna Mitropolia, Bulgaria

About: The Astro Club at the Municipal Center will organize and conduct in several nights Astro Party - telescopic observations of "Deep Sky" objects, visible planets and a special laser astroshow of the winter constellations, telling the myths and legends related to them. The activities will take place in all schools on the territory of the municipality of Dolna Mitropolia with about 1200 students.

100 Hours of Astronomy: Sofia, Bulgaria

About: Popular lectures will present a brief overview of the most exciting moments in the IAU history, the most interesting astronomical events in 2019, as well as the recent missions to the Sun. Light will be shed on the manifestation of stellar magnetic fields and on the nature of some impressive astronomical objects, like flickering stars and supernovae. The guests will have the opportunity to observe cosmic rays and to understand how and why the main mirror of the 2m telescope at Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory is removed. The Eratosthenes experiment of the Earth’s circumference estimation will be reproduced. The “Above and Beyond” exhibition, showcasing the key achievements of astronomy and space research, as well as the role of IAU over the past century, will be exposed.
