Description
The University of New Hampshire Physics Department's Observatory is a public viewing facility run by students, staff, and volunteers of the university. Located on the outskirts of campus in a dark and remote viewing field adjacent to Woodman Horticulture Farm, the UNH Observatory provides great views of the heavens with our 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. During the cold winter sessions we have an operational warming hut and serve hot apple cider to all observers. The experienced staff will also guide you through the heavens if you are interested in learning about the constellations. Free sessions open to the public are held on the first and third Saturday of each month, special observing sessions are also held throughout the year - see website for more details.
