Description

The College of Charleston Observatory, located at the corner of Coming and George Streets in downtown Charleston, is equipped with a 16" DFM Cassegrain reflector. Additional facilities include two observing decks with 28 Celestron 8" and 28 Meade 8" telescopes. Events generally begin on the first floor of the College Science Center with an orientation session and demonstrations or short talks. The observatory is located on the fourth floor at the southeast corner of the building. One of the observing decks is handicapped accessible. The other observing deck and the observatory are not currently handicapped accessible. Handicap access to the building is available through the Physicians Auditorium entrance.
