Celebrate the International Year of Astronomy 2009(IYA2009) with the rest of the WORLD by attending a “Global Star Party”
The NAMS 6th Grade Science Department and The Astronomical Society of Southern New England cordially invite all NAMS 6th Graders and their parents/guardians to attend and participate in a “Global Star Party” on Saturday April 4th from 6:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M at The Joseph Martin Elementary School. This event takes place during the “100 Hours of Astronomy”, when the whole world will be celebrating astronomy as part of IYA 2009. This is a free event provided by The Astronomical Society of Southern New England (ASSNE). All 6th graders are encouraged to attend with parents/guardians and learn more about the objects in our night sky.
The evening begins in The Martin Elementary School gymnasium at 6:00 P.M. with a brief overview on night sky viewing including: which objects students/parents will be able to view in the sky that evening and an orienta...
