Organizer Comments:
The 100 Hour Sidewalk Astronomy Marathon was a huge success, though to reach the finish line the Victoria Centre had to dig deep into its bag of dedicated volunteers. It was “Extreme Astronomy” in an urban environment, starting April 28 @7:00pm to May 2 @11:00pm. Sincere thanks to the volunteers for making this event such a success. What kept us going all the way, were the inspirations and comments that we received from the visitors, who were seeing telescopic views of the Moon and Saturn for the first time and were wondering whether we have painted the images at the other end of the telescope. During this event we were able to contact with 1443 visitors. Everyone, volunteers and visitors had a stupendous time. Will we do it again? Ask us at least after a year.”
