Public comments/impressions: Wow! Solar flare!!! Why is the Sun so clear without flare in this scope while red and with flare in the other scope?!
Viewing conditions: Clear sky. Very hot afternoon.
Objects viewed: The Sun through H-alpha filter and through Mylar filters.
Types of telescopes used: Orion ST80 refractor with Baader Solar Filter (for white light viewing) and Coronado PST (for H-Alpha viewing) on Vixen GP-D mount;Celestron Nexstar 5i SCT (white light) as well as Takahashi TSA-102 refractor (white light) and Stellarvue AT1010 refractor equipped with Coronado SolarMax 40 H-Alpha filter (for H-Alpha viewing) on Vixen GPDX mount; Apex 127 Maksutov-Cassegrain fitted with Thousand Oaks Glass Filter (white light) on ASGT mount.
