Description

Regional Science Centre & Planetarium, Calicut is a science popularization centre involved in various science communication activities. Approximately five lakhs (500000) visitors come to this centre annually. It has a 260 seater Zeiss planetarium with 15.1 meter dome diameter. It has the following galleries: Fun science, Life science, Mirror Magic, Human Endurance, Astronomy. It also has a vast science park with automated dinosaurs.

Presently the planetarium shows which is screened is: Moon Beyond Fantasies.

This centre has a very active astronomy club. The members of the club organizes sky observation programmes in all Sundays subject to clear sky. Further ti organizes meteor shower observation, occultation , eclipses and transit observation programmes. We have 11" CPC from celestron, 3.5 " Meniscus Zeiss reflector, two numbers of 6" refractors, One home made 6" reflector, 450D Canon DSLR, 50X Binocular.
