Description
As part of the activities of IYA2009-Puerto Rico, Life of the Stars (from FETTU), Braille adapted Astronomical Images would be displayed at the 11th Conference for Technical Assistance of PRATP Puerto Rico. More than 600 people have been registered for the conference, been 20 percent of them with disabilities. In addition, the participants would have the opportunity to hear the Sound of Pulsars and enjoy Braille adapted images of supernova remnants and also and Arecibo Observatory Tactile Model. The astronomical booth will be located at the Interactive Zone of the Convention Center, where visitor could enjoy from a variety of technical materials developed for blinds. Description
During April 2 - 5, 2009 the two major groups of amateur astronomers of Puerto Rico (SAPR, SAC) will set up their telescopes at the grounds of San Felipe del Morro fort. This area, overlooking the San Juan bay, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Del 2 al 5 de abril la Sociedad de Astronomía de Puerto Rico y La Sociedad de Astronomía del Caribe apuntarán sus telescopios al cielo en los terrenos del Morro para el público en general. El Fuerte de San Felipe del Morro es un Monumento Nacional (UNESCO) y se encuentra localizado en la bahía de San Juan, Puerto Rico. Durante esos días se llevarán acabo observaciones a simple vista y con telescopios, transmisiones vía Internet desde el Observatorio de Arecibo, actividades educativas y culturales. Exhortamos a todos los que tengan telescopios o binoculares a que los lleven a la actividad. Para más detalles visite: www.astronomy2009pr.org.
