Description
Presented by Paul Rogers. Paul has always enjoyed using binoculars and has owned many different models over many years. Although Paul also owns and uses several high quality refractors, the instrument that gets used the most are his 25 x 125 astronomical binoculars. Paul says, "There's nothing I enjoy more than using my large binoculars to sweep up faint fuzzy galaxies in high contrast rich wide field views - especially with other members of the ASSA at one of our members' nights or in the dark skies of the Flinders Ranges". Paul's talk will start with an overview of different binocular models, and the various astronomical applications of binoculars. The talk will also describe some advantages of using binoculars for astronomy, and various objects suitable for observation.
