This workshop will introduce Astronomy to children, using our Moon as a reference. We are going to explore the Moon’s prominent surface features: craters, rilles and the smooth maria. EVC astronomy staff will divide the children into three groups and work through each subject. Parents or legal guardians are required to attend and will be working independently with the astronomer. The workshop will end with parents and children observing the Moon. Workshops will be held on April 3, starting at 7:00 PM SHARP and ending at 8:30 PM. These workshops are free of charge but participants must sign up to secure one of the 20 slots (20 children in addition to the parents). A “Hold Harmless Agreement” must be signed by the visitors before attending the workshop. Please, call (408) 270-6490 on M - F between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM to make reservations.
