Instructions for Uploading Videos to "100 Hours Starparties"
If you'd like to upload a video taken at your 100 Hours of Astronomy event to our YouTube group "100 Hours Starparties", here's what you need to do:
- Using a webcam or digital movie camera, video your event. Note that YouTube videos have to be less than 1 Mb in size, and less than 10 minutes in length.
- Go to YouTube (www.youtube.com), and create your own account there. This is not difficult-- click on the "Sign Up" link on the top right of the page
- Once you have created your account and are signed in, you can upload your video to your account. Click on "Upload" on the upper right, and then "Upload Video".
- After your video is uploaded, it will take a little while before it is processed. Once it is processed, make sure that you can play it without problems on your account. Click on "Account", and then My Videos/Uploaded Videos to see and play your video.
- If everything looks okay, then you're ready to upload your video to 100 Hours Starparties. Go to http://www.youtube.com/group/starparties, and click on "Join This Group". You are now a member of our group!
- Now click on "Add Videos". Select the video you want to upload, and then "Add to Group". The video will now be uploaded to the 100 Hours Starparties group. You will not see your video immediately on http://www.youtube.com/group/starparties, because the 100 Hours moderator will need to confirm that they are suitable for public viewing, and approve them before they are made public.
Please note:
1. Only 100 hours of astronomy or related video clips will be accepted and all video clips will be reviewed by our moderator before going live 2. You do not have to be logged in to view the video clips on our 100 Hours Starparties Youtube site: http://www.youtube.com/group/starparties 3.
