Alan Dyer

Birthday:: 1999.11.30

Alan Dyer is an amateur astronomer, astronomy author and planetarium show producer living in Alberta, Canada. He's been involved in public astronomy education for the last 30 years. He is co-author with Terence Dickinson of the book The Backyard Astronomer's Guide (www.backyardastronomy.com) and author of several books for children including Insiders: Space and Mission to the Moon, published by Simon and Schuster. He's currently completing production work for a new planetarium show, Galileo Live!, to open this year at four major planetariums in Canada. For the last year, he's been involved in planning an extensive calendar of IYA events for the Calgary area, staged in partnership with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Calgary Centre and the University of Calgary.
