Shahin Jafarzadeh |
I am currently studying Astrophysics at Lund Observatory, Sweden and my current work is focused on the “Detection of Faint Disturbing Stars near Gaia Objects” under supervision of Professor Lennart Lindegren. Besides my professional activities, I'm an amateur astronomer, from the Earth!
I was born in 1977 in Tehran, Iran. My interest in Astronomical activities led me to do my B.Sc. in Physics at Shiraz University with a thesis project entitled "Photoelectric Observations, Light Curves Analysis and Period Study of the Eclipsing Variable DO Cas" at Biruni Observatory. After graduation, I worked as an astronomy teacher in several high schools for a period of 6 years. Meanwhile, I was one of the teachers and scientific leaders of the Iranian National Astronomy Olympiad team that participated in the International Astronomy Olympiad from 2003 to 2005 in Sweden, Ukraine and China, which led me to valuable experience both in scientific and organizing activities in the field of Astronomy! I then moved to Denmark in 2005 and Sweden in 2006 to continue my education in Astrophysics in a more professional way, during which I've had some observational experience with different telescopes plus working for 3 months in La Palma, Canaries, as a student support astronomer at SST (Swedish Solar Telescope).
